And then there’s the question of how many pets (or animals). I have a friend with, let me see, six dogs, seven cats, something under a dozen pygmy goats, a miniature bull (named Big Mac), a llama, and two very noisy geese. Oh, two chatty African gray parrots as well. He’s got plenty of room for them all, but the dogs, in particular, cost him a fortune. (They get into fights–being dogs.) And it’s all because he likes animals. More power to him, but it strikes me as excessive….
